What is ScreenshottED?

ScreenshottED aims to empower young people to utilize the science of digital well-being in their advocacy through an interactive curriculum. Participants will learn to effectively read and disseminate scientific research, ultimately culminate in an action project where they will educate and advocate for better policies in their communities and beyond.

Problem

There is a growing sector of research focused on digital wellbeing with the aim of informing policy guidelines; yet, much of this research is underutilized in the actual creation of legislation or policy. This leads to solutions that do not actually safeguard or improve youth mental health and digital wellness.

Solution

Our curriculum will help bridge the gap between research and policy, promoting research-backed solutions and guidelines. It will also place power in the hands of young people to create this change, allowing us to prioritize issues that are most meaningful to our communities.
