What is ShiftSC?

Shift SC is the University of Southern California's first and only student-led platform for ethically aligned and socially responsible technology. Shift aims to promote interdisciplinary conversation and action at USC around the social implications and ethical issues of modern technology.

Problem

There is not enough conversation about the social and ethical implications surrounding modern technology. Students lack opportunities in school to learn about the intersectionality of technology, especially as it is applied in real life. Companies, organizations, and professionals in the socially responsible tech space also face barriers in accessing avenues to interact and hear from youth voices.

Solution

The Tech4Good Conference brings together professionals in the socially responsible technology space and students curious about digital well-being. Students hear directly from interdisciplinary speakers working in the digital space, while socially responsible companies and organizations share their missions, products, open positions, and ways to engage. Youth also have an opportunity to showcase their own Tech4Good research and passion projects.
