Descriptor.
Operation Decode Blossom starts by highlighting the importance of joyful learning, fostering a safe space for honesty, creativity, and fun. Our mission is to guide teens in building awareness and a positive relationship with technology through dynamic workshops like AI Exploration and Media Literacy, empowering them to harness technology for positive impact and personal growth.
Problem.
The pervasive use of technology, especially among "at-risk" teens with high device ownership, has been linked to alarming rates of mental health issues, including depression (56%), anxiety (69%), unhealthy body image (84%), and fear of missing out (85%). The impact of Big Tech on youth's mental health is a pressing concern, evident in the rising number of young adults struggling with an inability to set boundaries and facing the consequences of unchecked device usage. Despite efforts to create safe online experiences, the surge in mental health issues highlights a critical need for immediate solutions, including digital literacy education and discussions on the risks of tech addiction to foster a healthier relationship with technology.
Solution.
Our solution, Operation Decode Blossom, addresses the mental health challenges associated with technology by providing dynamic workshops like AI Exploration and Media Literacy. Through these engaging sessions, we aim to educate and empower teens with digital literacy skills, encouraging critical thinking, promoting healthy boundaries, and fostering a positive relationship with technology for sustainable well-being and personal growth.
