Tech(nically) Politics

“While we can’t yet hold seats in government, we can still influence the decisions being made for us.”

Model & Strategy.

Descriptor.

Tech(nically) Politics bridges young people’s experiences and lawmakers' decisions. TechPol provides a platform for young people to share their experiences with the digital world and ways they want to see the space change, creating a seat for youth at the legislative table.

Problem.

Tech(nically) Politics is working to address the lack of regulation for online spaces by channeling the power of youth storytelling. Divisive marketing tactics, lack of transparency, and privacy-breaching data collection harm underage users online, yet few laws in the U.S. currently curb this power of Big Tech. We must integrate teen voices into the regulatory space to guide older policymakers' knowledge of unregulated digital spaces.

Solution.

As the first generation to grow up in this digital era, we know what we want to see change in digital spaces and young people’s experiences should help guide the creation of digital safety laws. Tech(nically) Politics is here to leverage youth voices through the power of storytelling, public pressure, and policy.
